James Henry notched a first-half brace as Aldershot beat 10-man Altrincham 2-1 at the EBB Stadium.

Henry put the hosts in front with a 26th-minute finish and was swiftly on the scoresheet again with a strike four minutes later.

A foul on the former Oxford man soon after saw a yellow card shown to Tom Crawford, who was subsequently given his marching orders with 12 minutes to go following a challenge on Tyler Frost.

Jake Bickerstaff then pulled a goal back late on, but Altrincham were unable to salvage anything.

Aldershot rise a place to 17th in the National League table, now four points clear of the relegation zone, while Altrincham stay 10th.
