Hull and Millwall are yet to secure a league win after two weekends of Championship action as they prepare to meet at the MKM Stadium.

Tim Walter's Tigers have drawn against Bristol City and Plymouth either side of a Carabao Cup defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Neil Harris' Lions have lost a pair of thrillers, 3-2 at home to Watford and 4-3 at Bristol City. They did, however, win 1-0 at Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup.

Hull boss Walter looks set to stick with his 4-3-3 set-up and is hoping to introduce another new face, Ivory Coast striker Chris Bedia, into the mix. Talks with Bedia's club Union Berlin are ongoing.

With seven goals conceded in two league games, Lions' head coach Harris will be tempted to restore Japhet Tanganga to the heart of the defence. The ex-Tottenham man has sat out the first three league and cup games due to a suspension.

Harris also hopes to have winger Femi Azeez signed from Reading in time to go straight into the squad.

Hull have won only three of their last 15 Championship fixtures and have won just one of 10 home games in all competitions since that 1-0 win over Millwall last season.

Millwall are in the bottom three of the Championship without a point, but they top the goals-per-game table with a total of 12 goals in two matches.

Prediction

A summer of overhaul at the MKM Stadium has left everyone scratching their heads as to what to expect from Hull this season – including Millwall boss Harris.

The Lions' manager has commented on the transition of styles from Liam Rosenior to his successor Walter, with the German trying several different things in a short space of time.

Throw in a substantial change of personnel in the transfer window – in stark contrast to what is happening at The Den – and the best of Hull may not be seen for a while.

Given that they finished last season poorly – again in contrast to Millwall, who signed off with five straight wins – they look to be worth taking on.

They have not won any of their three fixtures though they do have two points on the board at least, and that is two more than Millwall.

Harris probably has less immediate concerns because his team are creating and taking chances and if he can stop the bleeding at the other end then they should climb the table.
