Fulham will bid to move into European contention when they host high-flying Brighton at Craven Cottage on Thursday evening.

As of writing, the Cottagers are 10th on 19 points, only four points back of the fourth-placed Seagulls following their 1-1 draw at Tottenham on Sunday.

Albion will be hoping to make it four games without defeat, having briefly gone second following their 1-1 draw at home to Southampton on Friday.

However, Fabian Hurzeler’s side were a touch fortunate to escape with a point after the relegation-threatened Saints had a goal controversially ruled out by VAR.

Team news

Fulham have been hit hard by suspensions with midfielders Tom Cairney and Sasa Lukic forced to sit out Thursday's clash.

Cairney was sent off at Tottenham on Sunday while Lukic misses out because of an accumulation of yellow cards.

Boss Marco Silva, who is also without midfielder Harrison Reed and defender Joachim Andersen through injury, may be forced to switch Alex Iwobi into the centre and hand Harry Wilson a start out wide.

Andreas Pereira, who was absent at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for what the manager called "technical reasons" could also be recalled.

As for Brighton, Carlos Baleba is set to return to the visitors' midfield after serving a one-game suspension against Southampton.

Several players are injury doubts for the trip to west London after picking up knocks on Friday, including Japan winger Kaoru Mitoma and Sweden midfielder Yasin Ayari.

The stats

Fulham have never lost to Brighton in eight Premier League meetings and beat the Seagulls 3-0 at Craven Cottage in the corresponding fixture last season.

Silva's side have scored in six consecutive home Premier League games, their longest such sequence since October 2022.

Brighton are winless in their last nine Premier League matches in London, losing five and drawing four.

But no team have seen more of their players score for them in the Premier League this season than Brighton (11).

Prediction

Fabian Hurzeler will hope Brighton can end their run of nine trips to London without winning

A closely contested match with goals appears likely between these two in-form sides.

Fulham have been good at home, winning three of their last six but slipping up in a couple of winnable games against Aston Villa and Wolves.

The Cottagers' defence has looked vulnerable in Andersen's absence and may be less protected this week with so many midfielders out through suspension or injury.

That could play into Brighton's hands, but the visitors have also had some issues at the back lately and could have lost against Southampton last week.

Seven of Albion's last nine Premier League matches have seen both teams score with at least three goals in the game and that looks like the most likely outcome here.
