Carlo Ancelotti will be expecting a response from his Real Madrid side

- Real Madrid target first league win of the season
- Barcelona face tough contest against Athletic Bilbao
- Atletico Madrid host last season's surprise package Girona

The goals flew in during the opening weekend of the LaLiga season and already there have been some eye-catching results.

Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao all failed to win last time out and will be hoping for better on matchday two.

We run through all 10 games and have a score prediction for each.

Celta Vigo vs Valencia (Friday, 6pm)

Celta Vigo began their season with a resolute 2-1 win over Alaves and they could follow up with a victory against Valencia, who lost 10 away games in LaLiga last term.

Score prediction: Celta Vigo 2-1 Valencia

Sevilla vs Villarreal (Friday, 8.30pm)

Sevilla could only draw away to Las Palmas last Friday and they could have a tough time of it against Villarreal, who held Atletico Madrid to a stalemate on Monday.

Score prediction: Sevilla 0-1 Villarreal

Osasuna vs Mallorca (Saturday, 4pm)

Mallorca dug deep to take a point off Real Madrid in their LaLiga opener and another draw could follow when they take on Osasuna.

The Pamplona-based hosts also shared the spoils last weekend, drawing 1-1 with new boys Leganes.

Score prediction: Osasuna 1-1 Mallorca

Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao (Saturday, 6pm)

Hansi Flick will be hoping Barcelona can chalk up another victory
Hansi Flick will be hoping Barcelona can chalk up another victory

Athletic Bilbao drew 1-1 with Getafe on the opening weekend of LaLiga but star man Nico Williams could feature from the start when they visit Barcelona.

Hansi Flick's first game in charge of Barca finished in a 2-1 win over Valencia but they were not entirely convincing and could be held to a draw by their Basque visitors.

Score prediction: Barcelona 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

Espanyol vs Real Sociedad (Saturday, 8.30pm)

An opening 1-0 defeat to Valladolid does not bode well for newly-promoted Espanyol.

And things could go from bad to worse when they take on Real Sociedad, who lost their first game to Rayo Vallecano but finished sixth in the 2023-24 season and can flex their goalscoring muscle.

Score prediction: Espanyol 0-3 Real Sociedad

Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano (Saturday, 8.30pm)

Rayo Vallecano were not the best travellers in LaLiga last term but their 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on matchday one was promising.

They look well-equipped to take three points away at Getafe.

Score prediction: Getafe 0-1 Rayo Vallecano

Real Madrid vs Valladolid (Sunday, 4pm)

An opening 1- 1 draw with Mallorca was not in the script for Real Madrid but a front three of Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo will not stay quiet for long.

They can bounce back from the disappointment of that draw against newly-promoted Valladolid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Score prediction: Real Madrid 4-1 Valladolid

Leganes vs Las Palmas (Sunday, 6pm)

Few teams across the continent finished the 2023-24 season in poorer form than Las Palmas, who failed to win any of their last 14 games, losing nine of them.

They began this term with a respectable draw at home to Sevilla but could come unstuck away to hungry new boys Leganes.

Score prediction: Leganes 1-0 Las Palmas

Alaves vs Real Betis (Sunday, 6.15pm)

Alaves's return of 36 goals in 38 games last term was worse than relegated pair Almeria and Granada and the score could stay low when they host Real Betis.

Alaves will look to keep things tight at the Mendizorroza..

Score prediction: Alaves 0-0 Real Betis

Atletico Madrid vs Girona (Sunday, 8.30pm)

With new signing Julian Alvarez in line for a start this time around, Atletico Madrid could build on last week's draw against Villarreal by beating Girona.

Girona endured a mass exodus of players over the summer and are not the same team they were last season.

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-0 Girona
