Beto's arrival this summer can help Everton cope in the ongoing absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin

- Arsenal have lost four of their last five visits to Goodison Park
- The Gunners have seen both teams score in four of their five matches this season
- Recommended bet: Both teams to score

Arsenal head to Goodison Park having won three of their first four games in the Premier League this season, but their record at Everton is terrible.

With just one point to show for their last five trips to Goodison, this is a tricky fixture for Mikel Arteta’s side to navigate.

While they meet a side who have struggled in front of goal, the addition of Beto is still likely to cause problems for the Gunners.

Team news

Everton remain without Dominic Calvert-Lewin for this clash, while summer signing Jack Harrison is also sidelined.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners are expected to have Gabriel Jesus involved from the start after his cameo against Manchester United.

With Thomas Partey out, Arteta is likely to go with an attacking midfield trio of Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz, either side of Declan Rice.

The stats

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have made a positive start to the season but they have conceded in four of their five games so far

Everton have conceded in all five of their matches so far this season.

The Toffees are underperforming their Expected Goals tally by the biggest margin in the league.

The hosts have scored twice in each of their last two games, since signing Beto from Udinese.

Gabriel Jesus has scored eight goals against Everton in the league, more than any other opponent.

Arsenal have conceded nine goals across their last six league trips.

Everton have conceded in five of their last seven league games at Goodison.

Prediction

Everton find themselves in the bottom three after taking just one point from their opening four games.

However, the Toffees have not been as bad as their results suggest.

Sean Dyche’s side have scored just twice despite posting an xG tally of 7.95. That was to be expected after going through their first three games looking lightweight in attack.

However, the addition of Beto can fix their misfiring attack.

The former Udinese striker is a technically solid, physical presence who can get on the end of chances.

He took four shots without scoring against Sheffield United, but his style of play is exactly what Arsenal have feared for decades.

Beto is priced at 5/2 with LiveScore Bet for a headed shot on target and that is a real standout bet against an Arsenal side who have conceded in four of their five games this term.

Defensively Arsenal’s new approach is not quite working, leaving issues for Arteta to fix.

With his side shipping nine goals across their last six trips, another tough visit to Merseyside could follow.

However, Everton are not as secure as Dyche would like them to be.

They have conceded in every game so far, including against League Two Doncaster.
