Unai Emery will be eager to see Aston Villa get back to winning ways at home to Burnley

- Burnley have won just one of their last five games
- Only Newcastle (6) and Liverpool (5) have kept more home clean sheets than Villa (3)
- Recommended Bet: Aston Villa to win to nil

The busy schedule has caught up to Aston Villa in the last week with Unai Emery's side having drawn with Sheffield United and lost to Manchester United in their last two games.

But they are still serious contenders for Champions League football and look a solid bet to beat Burnley, who are fighting for their lives.

Vincent Kompany's men stormed to the Championship title last term, but at the halfway stage of the season they look like prime relegation candidates.

Team news

Aston Villa will be without injured talents Emiliano Buendia, Tyrone Mings, Lucas Digne, Robin Olsen and Youri Tielemans, while Boubacar Kamara and Matty Cash are suspended.

Luca Koleosho and Jack Cork are again set to miss out for visitors Burnley.

The stats

Aston Villa have won 12 of their 19 matches in this season's Premier League, racking up 40 goals and conceding only 25 in the process.

Three of the four clean sheets kept by the club in the league this season have been at Villa Park.

As for Burnley, they have failed to score in eight Premier League matches this season.

Their top scorers in the league are Josh Brownhill, Lyle Foster and Wilson Odobert, who have only three goals each.

Prediction

It was unreasonable to expect Aston Villa to sustain the pace they set in the early stages of the season and their recent drop-off in form should come as no surprise.

However, neither the 1-1 draw with Sheffield United nor the 3-2 loss to Manchester United were disastrous results.

They were on the brink of defeat against the Blades, only for Nicolo Zaniolo's 97th-minute equaliser to help them snatch a point, while they had led 2-0 against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Player absences have not helped and the loss of industrious midfielder Boubacar Kamara to suspension is not ideal, but it should not impact Villa too much in this contest.

They are still in the mix for the top four and look likely to improve on last term's seventh-placed finish.

At Villa Park, they have been especially devastating, winning eight and drawing one of their nine matches and conceding only six goals in the process.

They should win this comfortably and the best bet is the hosts to win without conceding.

Visitors Burnley have lost five of their nine away games in the league and they were particularly shot-shy in that batch of matches, scoring only eight times.

Kompany's side lack a reliable goalscorer and their chance creation has also been pretty poor, as demonstrated by the fact they failed to put a single shot on target against Liverpool on Boxing Day.
