Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping for an attacking improvement against Tottenham

- Arsenal have scored just twice across their previous three games
- Tottenham have suffered three 1-0 defeats in their last five league away outings
- Recommended bet:
Under 2.5 goals

Arsenal host Tottenham on Wednesday night aiming to shake a rough run of results.

The Gunners exited the FA Cup against Manchester United on Sunday, while they are all but out of the Carabao Cup following last week's home loss to Newcastle.

With pressure growing on Mikel Arteta and his side, they can ill afford another setback.

Tottenham have issues of their own, which could lead to a cagey North London Derby.

Team news

Arsenal lost Gabriel Jesus to injury on Sunday, with the Brazilian joining Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri on the sidelines.

That leaves the Gunners' short up front, with misfiring pair Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz set to be joined by Raheem Sterling in the home team's front three.

Tottenham continue to have substantial defensive concerns, but they have no fresh injury issues for Wednesday's clash.

Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is set to make his Premier League debut following consecutive cup clean sheets in his two games since joining from Slavia Prague.

The stats

- 60% of Arsenal's Premier League games this season have featured fewer than three goals

- The Gunners have conceded just six times across their nine home matches

- Tottenham's previous two matches have seen just one goal scored across 180 minutes of normal time

- Under 2.5 goals has landed in four of Arsenal's previous five outings

- The Gunners won 1-0 when these two sides met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this season

- Spurs have lost all six encounters with the top five in the league so far in 2024-25

Arsenal's lack of depth in attack was already an issue before Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury on Sunday.

Now the Gunners are looking incredibly light in the final third, with Saka's absence leaving them without a real spark in their front three.

Tottenham have been seen as a soft-touch defensively all season, but the Gunners may struggle to exploit that. Havertz looked wayward in their cup clash with United and he's clearly not a finisher.

The Gunners remain a solid side at the back and they have conceded just six times in their nine home league outings.

That defensive strength, mixed with their attacking woes, have led to four of their last five matches featuring fewer than three goals.

This is likely to be another low-scoring game, with 60% of Arsenal's Premier League assignments featuring no more than two goals.

While Spurs are known to throw caution to the wind, their recent matches have not been quite as high-scoring.

Non-league Tamworth held them goalless for over 90 minutes on Sunday, eventually triumphing 3-0, while they beat Liverpool 1-0 a week ago.

Spurs have lost 1-0 in three of their last five road trips and were defeated by the same scoreline in September's clash with the Gunners.

Neither side can afford another setback, so back that to translate into another cagey, low-scoring encounter.
