Wolves could not find a way to break down a stubborn Burnley defence as they were held to a goalless draw at Molineux.

The hosts had 60% possession and 16 shots, but were left frustrated by Sean Dyche’s men who are now unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches.

The standout chance of the game fell to Adama Traore but the Spaniard’s powerful shot cannoned back off the crossbar.

Hee Chan Hwang struck wide in the second half, while Jose Sa was forced into action when he denied Dwight McNeil.

After the final whistle, Dyche played down claims that his side were overly physical in their rearguard performance.

He said: "Not at all, it was great to see tackles and that the players are allowed to do that again.

"It was a really tough game, we were not as good as we have been recently but the defensive resilience and organisation was really pleasing.

"We just did not deal with the ball as well as we would have liked or caused them enough problems.

"We started really well, Chris Wood had a couple of early chances and Matej Vydra had one too but generally we were not where we needed to be to win a game.

"We were not on the mark today, but we did enough to deserve a point and a clean sheet."

Wolves failed to capitalise on their dominance

Wolves have failed to win against the Clarets in their last six league meetings, drawing three and losing three, failing to score in half of those fixtures.

Burnley have kept their first away clean sheet in the league since a 2-0 victory at Fulham in May.

Bruno Lage’s men have scored just five league goals at home this season, the joint-lowest figure alongside Norwich.

Dyche's side have drawn three consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since February 2019.

After drawing 0-0 against Norwich in their last game, Wolves have drawn back-to-back games without scoring for the first time since February 2020.
