Trainer Roger Varian has ruled Teona out of Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, with rain forecast at Longchamp this weekend.

There were high hopes the horse would be involved across the Channel for the showpiece event after beating the highly-rated Snowfall in the Prix Vermeille in September.

But the daughter of Sea The Stars will take no part in the Arc with testing ground forcing the hand of Varian.

Varian tweeted: "With substantial rain forecast to arrive on top of ground that is already described as being on the soft side, Teona has been scratched from the Arc this morning."

Thursday saw the draw announced for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, with ante-post favourites Tarnawa and Adayar handed contrasting results.

Dermot Weld-trained Tarnawa starts from stall three as she looks to add the Arc title to her success in last year's Breeders' Cup Turf.

Meanwhile, Adayar, who has been supplemented for the race on Wednesday at the cost of 120,000 euros, will be forced to come in from out wide after being drawn in stall 11.

The Charlie Appleby-trained runner has already shown her credentials to win the Derby and King George but faces an uphill battle after an unfavourable draw at Longchamp.

Elsewhere, Snowfall starts from gate nine as she hopes to add l'Arc to her wins in the English and Irish Oaks.

There will also be plenty of support in Japan for Takashi Saito-trained Chrono Genesis, who runs under jockey Oisin Murphy this weekend.

Saito has been happy with the horses's preparations after the journey over from Japan and is looking forward to seeing what his charge can do under Murphy.

Saito said: "She was working under Murphy and appears very quiet and settled in. The jockey did exactly what I asked him to do, which was not to force her to go too fast.

"She had very fluid action; I'm not concerned about anything. I haven't had the opportunity to weigh her but she looks like she's in the condition she was in when she was running in Japan.

"The main part of the preparation has been done in Japan; I find her in very good condition."
