Harry Kane is ready abandon plans to leave Tottenham following Antonio Conte’s appointment as manager.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was confirmed as Nuno Espirito Santo’s successor yesterday, signing an 18-month contract in North London.

England captain Kane, 28, tried to leave the club for Manchester City during the summer after citing his desire to win trophies.

But chairman Daniel Levy blocked the move, forcing him to stay.

The striker was still thought to want a move away and his poor form was a major talking point of Nuno’s tenure as he managed just one Premier League goal.

Following last Saturday's miserable 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, which spelled the end of the Portuguese head coach’s short reign, Kane was criticised for looking disinterested.

But following Conte’s arrival, the Sun claim Kane has changed his mind as he believes the new manager can help Spurs fight for trophies.

The report indicates the England skipper and the rest of the squad are delighted with the 52-year-old Italian's appointment.

Conte will be reportedly be given a £150million war chest to bolster the squad as he looks to shape it in his image.

He is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top coaches after guiding Chelsea to Premier League glory in 2016-17 and Serie A with Inter last season — as well as three successive league titles with Juventus.

Further reports in Italy claim an agreement for Kessie is close to being agreed in a deal that would see the 24-year-old midfielder join for free next summer.

Manuel Lazzari is also believed to be on Conte’s list of targets.

The Lazio star, 27, can play as both a full-back or in a more advanced role and is seen as an ideal signing in the likely event Conte implements a 3-4-3 formation.

Meanwhile, Football Insider claim Conte is planning a reunion with Inter defender Stefan de Vrij in January.

The report indicates the 29-year-old will be a available for £40m.

The Netherlands international played an integral role in the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto-winning campaign last season and would give a much-needed boost to Tottenham's frail backline.
