As we near the end of the season, our daily transfer column is back to keep you in the loop with all the latest transfer rumours and gossip.

Messi eyes big money

Lionel Messi is willing to join Manchester City — if they can pay him £500,000 per week after tax.

SunSport claim the Barcelona icon, 33, is open to a move to the Etihad this summer, which would see him link up once again with former Barca boss Pep Guardiola.

With his Camp Nou contract up in July, no transfer fee would be required and a 12-month deal with the option of a further year is thought to be an attractive propsect for both Messi and City.

But with the Argentine’s representatives supposedly setting out initial demands of £25million a year, City will have to make him the highest-paid star in Premier League history.

Another Sancho saga?

Borussia Dortmund duo Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho are in the headlines once again

Elsewhere, talkSPORT claim Erling Haaland is set to stay at Borussia Dortmund for at least one more season — but team-mate Jadon Sancho could be on the move.

Norwegian goal machine Haaland, 20, is thought to be the top target of several European powerhouses after netting 39 times in 40 games for Dortmund across all competitions this term.

But now that BVB have qualified for the Champions League, the in-demand striker could sit tight for another season before a reported release clause in his contract kicks into effect in summer 2022.

For England international Sancho, the picture is less clear.

A long-term pursuit by Manchester United for his services came to nothing last summer and the 21-year-old has since gone on to have another impressive campaign in Germany.

But Dortmund could be willing to listen to offers this time around, with the figure required to prize him away thought to be less than the £117m bandied about 12 months ago.

New deal for Tiel

Youri Tielemans' wonder strike won the FA Cup for Leicester on Saturday

Leicester hope to tie down FA Cup hero Youri Tielemans to a new deal at the King Power Stadium.

The Mail report Tielemans, 24, is set to be offered terms to take him close to top earners Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel after his 30-yard thunderbolt sealed a memorable 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

Also in line for contract extensions are Turkish international defender Caglar Soyuncu, 24, and English winger Harvey Barnes, 23, as Brendan Rodgers looks to keep the foundations of his squad in place.

Murphy on the move

Finally, Newcastle could have a job on their hands to keep hold of wideman Jacob Murphy.

According to Football Insider, contract talks between 26-year-old Murphy and the Tyneside club have stalled — putting Leeds, Burnley, Southampton, Watford and Rangers on red alert.

Murphy, whose twin brother Josh plies his trade in the Championship for Cardiff, has shown himself as a capable option at both right wing and right-back for the Magpies this term.
