Transfer Talk: PSG want Reds star Sadio to be their Mane man
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly readying themselves to move for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane.
The forward has been one of the stars of the Reds’ bid for an unprecedented Quadruple this season after scoring 13 goals since the turn of the year, though his future at Anfield is uncertain.
Mane, 30, is approaching the final year of his contract and no deal has yet been agreed to keep him on Merseyside beyond the summer of 2023.
The Africa Cup of Nations winner is said to be keen on a pay rise from the £200,000-per-week sum he currently earns and while the Champions League finalists want to keep their Senegalese attacker, they are wary of paying such a high salary to a player of his age.
The uncertainty has put some of Europe's top clubs on red alert, with Sport Bild’s Christian Falk claiming PSG will make a lucrative offer to lure him to the Parc des Princes.
He says the high salary Les Parisiens are offering is a key reason the 89-cap international is hesitant to sign a new deal with Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move, though Mane is said to be favouring a switch to join Lionel Messi and Co in the French capital.
Kylian Mbappe is set to leave PSG this summer, meaning the Ligue 1 winners are looking for a new forward to partner Messi and Neymar in attack.
The Bavarians are also in the market for a new talisman up top, with star striker Robert Lewandowski likely to depart.
