Barcelona are ready to battle Manchester United and Arsenal for Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves.

The 24-year-old has more than two years remaining on his Wolves contract but is expected to leave Molineux this summer.

United and the Gunners will now have to see off competition from Barca if they are to complete a deal for Neves.

Both Premier League sides have a long-held interest in the central midfielder, who has been at Wolves since 2017.

The Daily Mail say that talks have already taken place between intermediaries of the West Midlanders and Barca.

The 26-cap international has made 24 Premier League appearances this term, scoring three goals, helping Bruno Lage’s men put together an impressive campaign which has them eighth in the table and in with a chance of qualifying for Europe.

Neves’ agent Jorge Mendes represents a large number of players at Molineux and oversaw Adama Traore’s loan from the club to Barca in January.

The report suggests that Wolves are prepared for approaches and no figure is given as to how much he would cost.

But with there likely to be interest outside of Barca, United and Arsenal, they will be hoping for a bidding war if he is to depart.

Barcelona may face competition from Aston Villa as they look to sign Franck Kessie

Franck Kessie is another midfielder the Catalan giants have been linked with and ESPN say they are in advanced talks with the AC Milan star over a deal.

But Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are also keen on the Ivorian according to the Express, which may scupper the LaLiga club's pursuit.
