Colombia superstar James Rodriguez is ready to follow Carlo Ancelotti out the exit door at Everton.

Rodriguez, 29, wants to cut ties with the Toffees after just one season at Goodison Park.

After opting to make the surprise move to Everton almost entirely due to Ancelotti’s presence, his former manager’s recent departure appears to have made the Colombian’s mind up.

And Rodriguez’s hefty wage, combined with his struggles to stay fit last season, mean the Toffees aren’t against selling him.

The Mail report that his agent has already touted his services to Real Madrid, where Ancelotti is in charge now, along with Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Napoli.

Rodriguez made just 23 league appearances for the Toffees last campaign but still netted six goals and assisted a further five as he displayed flashes of his class.

But with a new manager search that shows little sign of ending soon and Ancelotti back in Spain, Rodriguez is keen to end his spell in England.

Klopp wants McGinn

John McGinn is on Liverpool's wanted list this summer

Liverpool are interested in Aston Villa star John McGinn — but only if they can raise funds through sales first.

McGinn, 26, has been impressive for Villa over the past two seasons and started in each of Scotland’s three group games at Euro 2020.

But Villa tied him down to a new five-year deal last December and have put a £45million price-tag on his head.

After Gini Wijnaldum’s departure, Liverpool are keen to add another body in the middle of the park.

And The Athletic say that Jurgen Klopp — reportedly a big fan of McGinn — has asked Andy Robertson plenty of times about his great friend and would love the chance to add him to the Reds’ ranks.

But they would need to sell the likes of Marko Grujic, Divock Origi, Harry Wilson and Neco Williams for decent sums if those dreams are to become reality.

Other news

Spanish outlet AS say Barcelona star Lionel Messi has still not decided whether or not he is staying at the Camp Nou, despite his contract running out at the end of June.

If Manchester City are unable to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer, they are willing to wait an extra 12 months to bring a new striker in, according to ESPN.

Goal believe free agent Ryan Bertrand will complete a move to Leicester after leaving Southampton following seven years at the club.

Wolves have been linked with a move for Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour by Football Insider — they will face competition from Norwich, as well as other Premier League clubs.
