Transfer Talk: Reds want Kalvin to Phill void as Fabinho nears Saudi switch
Liverpool are eyeing a shock move for Manchester City outcast Kalvin Phillips as Fabinho edges closer to a move to Saudi Arabia.
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho was left out of Jurgen Klopp's squad that travelled to Germany for a pre-season training camp after a reported £40million bid from Al-Ittihad.
Klopp is searching for a replacement for the 29-year-old and Phillips is on his radar, according to the Mirror.
England midfielder Phillips, 27, won the Treble in his first season since joining City from boyhood club Leeds but did not contribute in the way he would have hoped.
He made just four starts across all competitions after struggling with injury, fitness and form throughout his maiden campaign at the Etihad.
Despite being keen to remain with the Citizens, his employers are considering the prospect of selling, with Newcastle and West Ham also linked.
The report indicates Bayern Munich's 21-year-old Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch and Fiorentina enforcer Sofyan Amrabat are also of interest to Anfield chiefs as their midfield rebuild continues.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have arrived to bolster their engine room, with Fabinho set to follow Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita out of the door.
