Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has spent over a decade in North London but could finally be on the move this summer.

Lloris, 36, has been unable to help Spurs to any major silverware during his spell between the sticks but has often been regarded as one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers.

With one year left on his contract, the French World Cup winner may yet remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Ange Postecoglou's first season in charge but the club are reportedly targeting Brentford stopper David Raya as a replacement.

As his Spurs career draws to a close, we take a look at the options available to the veteran custodian.

End of an era

Lloris enjoyed some of Tottenham's best years in the Premier League era under Mauricio Pochettino but has since gone on record to say that his story in England is ending.

He said: "We have reached an important moment, whether it be for the club or me. It's the end of an era.

"I have a desire for something else. I will carefully study what is possible.

"However, I haven't forgotten that I have a year left on my contract at Tottenham, and in football, it's always hard to predict what will happen."

Hugo Lloris has spent 11 seasons as Tottenham's No1

Heading home

Tottenham brought Lloris across the English Channel from Lyon in 2012.

And the No1 may return to his homeland for a reunion with first club Nice.

On links to the Ligue 1 outfit, the 145-cap international said: "I am very attached to the city of Nice, as you know, but I can't speak about concrete things."

In 78 appearances between 2015 and 2018, Lloris kept 30 clean sheets on the French Rivieira but would face competition from first-choice stopper Kasper Schmeichel if he were to make a switch.

Money talks

Saudi Arabia seems to be a popular destination for players who are coming towards the end of their careers, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema two notable names to relocate from Europe to the Middle East.

And with N'Golo Kante also looking like he could accept a big-money offer from Al-Ittihad, it would not be surprising to see his international team-mate Lloris follow suit.

Benzema has just signed a deal worth nearly £200m a year while 32-year-old Kante has been offered a lucrative contract of his own.

Goalkeepers can often play into their 40s and there is no reason why Lloris could not enjoy a short stint in the Saudi Pro League before his retirement.

Not over yet

Hugo Lloris may have said his final farewells to the Tottenham fans

There is no obligation for Spurs to part ways with Lloris and former keeper Michel Vorm is one man who is hoping that the club captain remains for one more year.

Vorm, who spent six years as backup to Lloris said: "He's a legend of the club. And he will make the decision he feels like.

"If you look at his career over the last 10 years at Tottenham, it's been amazing, so I really hope he stays for another season."

Lloris' final game for Spurs may have already been and gone, but his status as a club legend will remain etched in the history books.
