Ryan Gravenberch is the latest star to be linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham keeping tabs on the Dutchman.

The Bayern Munich midfielder made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga last term as the Bavarians won the title for the 11th year in a row.

We take a look at how the future could pan out for the 21-year-old.

Talent in reserve

Since joining Bayern last summer, Gravenberch has not been given the opportunity to showcase his talents that impressed Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

He may have a contract that runs until 2027, but Die Roten may be willing to offload the talented anchor if the price is right.

Liverpool have the strongest links to Gravenberch, who started just three league matches for the champions last season.

And with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago all reaching their limits at the top level, the Merseyside club could be in with a serious shout of landing their target.

There may be stiff competition from the likes of Newcastle, who can offer Champions League football next term, but it is very difficult to turn down the Reds if they come calling.

Broken promises

Gravenberch has not held back when voicing his concern over a lack of time on the pitch.

The talented technician did not complete a full 90 minutes in the league in 2022-23 and is hoping to rectify that next season.

He said: "I had expected that I would get more chances and minutes than I eventually got. I had done very good preparation and thought I deserved it.

"I just want to play more, preferably at Bayern Munich. And otherwise at a club where I play 100%. That's my preference.

"Because I don't want to have another year like the one I've had now."

Dutch disappointment

During his time in the Netherlands, Gravenberch was thriving in the Eredivisie.

The 6ft 2in playmaker racked up over a century of appearances for Ajax, scoring 12 times and grabbing 13 assists.

His talents in his homeland earned him his first international cap under Frank de Boer in 2021 and he would go on to make a further 10, scoring one goal.

But the three-time Dutch league champion has since been demoted to the Under-21s and will be taking part in the European Championship with his younger compatriots.

If he is to return to the senior squad, he may have to consider a swift exit from German giants Bayern.

Words of a legend

Despite playing a smaller role for Bayern, Gravenberch has still shown his potential in Munich, averaging 2.74 tackles per 90 and 1,77 shots each match.

And Dutch legend Rafael van der Vaart firmly believes that the talisman has what it takes to become better than Jude Bellingham.

He said: "What I think is the big difference [between the two players], Bellingham is a step lower at a club and always plays.

"I think Gravenberch is better than him, in every way. Especially physically."

Gravenberch may have the chance to prove his worth next season and the Premier League could be the perfect place to do it.
