Transfer Talk: Bayern eyeing late move for Fulham ace Palhinha
Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to complete a deal for Joao Palhinha before Friday's transfer deadline.
The Portuguese midfielder, 28, starred in his debut campaign with Fulham and scored a late equaliser to rescue a point for the Cottagers at Arsenal last Saturday.
He led the way in the Premier League last term for both tackles made (147) and duels won (282).
According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between the West London outfit and Bayern are ongoing, with manager Marco Silva still hopeful that he can keep Palhinha beyond this summer.
Fulham will reportedly only sanction a transfer if they can find a replacement for the ex-Sporting Lisbon lynchpin, which may be tough to do right at the end of the summer window.
Bayern's search for a new defensive midfielder is perhaps due to the fact that Ryan Gravenberch is being heavily linked with a late switch to Liverpool.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reports the Reds are seeking to bolster their engine room by completing a permanent deal for the 21-year-old Dutchman, who joined the Bundesliga champions from Ajax last summer.
Gravenberch is said to be keen on a move to the Merseysiders after struggling for game time at the Allianz Arena.
