Transfer Talk: United push for Pavard as Maguire replacement
Manchester United are pushing to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard as a replacement for Harry Maguire, who is nearing a move to West Ham.
Florian Plettenberg reports that the Red Devils' initial offer has been rejected by the Bundesliga champions.
The Sky Sports reporter also hinted that personal terms have already been agreed between player and club.
Pavard, 27, has one year left on his contract in Munich and is keen to end his four-year stay at the Allianz arena.
And Bayern are eager to recoup some of the £100million that they forked out for England captain Harry Kane.
United boss Erik ten Hag does not want to leave his squad understaffed and with Maguire close to an exit, the Dutchman would like to replace the former Leicester defender.
But it might take up to £30m to prise Pavard away from the Bavarians, which is roughly the same amount that United expect West Ham to pay for Maguire.
