Both teams to score

Swansea lost 2-1 at Hull City over the weekend, which was their second successive defeat and continued a run of erratic form.

QPR are trending in a positive direction, and that continued with a late goal from James Dunne to secure a 2-1 home win over Preston, which was their third victory in a row at Loftus Road.

Team news

Sam Parker and Josh Ginnelly are back in training for Swansea, but they remain a few weeks away from the fitness needed to return to action.

Kristian Pedersen, Joe Allen and Ollie Cooper remain on the sidelines for the Swans with injuries.

QPR will be without the injured Jack Colback, Karamoko Dembele and Zan Celar for the trip to Wales.

Luke Williams's Swansea have been struggling for consistency

The stats

Swansea have not won any of their last three games at the Liberty Stadium, with their losses to Leeds and Sunderland coming either side of a home draw with Portsmouth.

Queens Park Rangers are unbeaten in their last three away fixtures, beating Cardiff before drawing with Watford and Bristol City.

Publicidad

Each of Swansea’s last seven games have seen both teams score, with Luke Williams’ side finding the net 13 times during that run and conceding 14.

QPR won this fixture 1-0 last season, with defender Steve Cook scoring the decisive goal.

Prediction

Swansea went into Christmas following a disappointing result, as Hull ended a 13-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory which saw the Tigers climb off the bottom of the Championship table.

Swans’ manager Williams and skipper Matt Grimes both made it clear after the game that the performance had not been good enough, but they now face a tough fixture as they look to bounce back at home.

Queens Park Rangers are enjoying their longest unbeaten run since Marti Cifuentes took charge of the club in October last year and they could move above Swansea in the table with another victory.

The Hoops’ seven-match undefeated spell has been built on defensive solidity, with the visitors keeping four clean sheets during that run and conceding a single goal in each of their other three fixtures.

Yet the one way that Swansea are proving to be reliable is by being consistently involved in games with goals at both ends, and with home advantage, they should find the net again.
