The 2022-23 Serie A season will not be forgotten in a hurry.

Napoli's first title since 1990 was the feel-good story of the campaign, with Luciano Spalletti's side dominating the division to win the league by 16 points.

Juventus' point deduction saga cast Italian football in a negative light, too, with Max Allegri's side ultimately only earning qualification to the Europa Conference League.

The race for survival has remarkably not yet been decided, meanwhile, with Spezia and Verona set to clash in a relegation tie-breaker.

After another thrilling campaign, we take a look at the individuals who shone brightest.

Minjae Kim (Napoli)

Minjae Kim was the bedrock of Napoli's domination of Serie A this season.

The South Korea international possesses traditional centre-half attributes, winning the second-most headers and completing the fifth-most clearances of all positional rivals in his division.

He also topped that list for completed passes, at a success rate of 91%, so it is little wonder that Manchester United reportedly want to sign him.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio)

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was back to his best in 2022-23

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was one of the hottest properties in Europe in 2018 when he scored 14 goals for Lazio and played at the World Cup for Serbia.

The midfielder has struggled to hit those heights since a big move never materialised but looked back to his best in recent months.

He registered nine goals and eight assists as Maurizio Sarri's side finished second in the table.

Teun Koopmeiners (Atalanta)

Tuen Koopmeiners scored more goals than any other Serie A central midfielder this season but that figure alone does not do justice to his all-round game.

The Dutch international ranked fifth for chances created and final-third passes among his positional rivals but is just as good out of possession, winning the ball back in the attacking third the fifth-most often of all midfielders.

Aged 25, the Atalanta No7 must be on the radar of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo)

Domenico Berardi is consistently impressive for Sassuolo

After racking up double figures in goals for the fifth consecutive season for a mid-table team, Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi has to be considered one of the most consistent attackers in Italy.

Berardi may have scored more penalties than any Serie A player this season but his open play threat is also considerable, ranking sixth for shots taken and fourth for assists of all forwards.

A move to one of the biggest clubs in Italy has often been mooted but with a contract lasting until 2027, Berardi may be happy to settle in as a club legend.

Victor Osimhen (Napoli)

The undoubted star of the campaign, Victor Osimhen looks set to be at the heart of one of the transfer sagas of the summer.

The Nigerian scored the most goals (26), took the most shots (135) and had the most shots on target (55) of all Serie A players as he fired Napoli to a historic title.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all on the market for a No9 this summer and it would be a surprise should he not be lining up for one of them come September.
