Paulo Fonseca will be hoping AC Milan can get the job done at Parma on Saturday
Publicidad

The second week of Serie A fixtures is upon us after a first round of matches which saw Atalanta rise to the top of the table with an impressive 4-0 win at Lecce.

The action in Italy this weekend gets underway at 5.30pm on Saturday as Parma host AC Milan and Lazio head to Udinese.

We have run through all nine games and provided a score prediction for each.

Parma vs AC Milan (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Paulo Fonseca will have aspirations of a title in his first season with Milan, so beating newly promoted Parma is a must for the Portuguese coach. Boosted by new signings Emerson Royal and Youssouf Fofana, the Rossoneri should have too much for their hosts.

Score prediction: 1-2

Udinese vs Lazio (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Lazio were impressive in their first match under new boss Marco Baroni, racking up 2.43 expected goals as they beat Venezia 3-1 and they should prove too strong for Udinese, who are winless in their last 11 home matches against these opponents.

Score prediction: 1-3

Inter vs Lecce (Saturday, 7.45pm)

The champions were held to a 2-2 draw at Genoa in their opener but should resume winning ways against Lecce, who were thrashed 4-0 by Atalanta last weekend.

Inter won to nil in both meetings between this pair last term and can continue that trend.

Score prediction: 2-0

Monza vs Genoa (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Monza were held to a draw by a poor Empoli side in their opener while Genoa earned a point against the champions. One of those results is much more impressive than the other, suggesting the visitors can claim a narrow win.

Score prediction: 0-1

Fiorentina vs Venezia (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Both of these sides suffered poor results on the opening weekend and will be keen to bounce back. However, while Fiorentina are a stronger side than Venezia, they will be fatigued after a gruelling 3-3 draw in the Conference League on Thursday so a draw may be on the cards in Florence.

Score prediction: 1-1

Torino vs Atalanta (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Atalanta were impressive in their opener, but so were Torino in their 2-2 draw with Milan and given the hosts have lost just one of their last 15 matches, another stalemate for the Turin outfit is not out of the question despite the quality of their visitors.

Score prediction: 1-1

Napoli vs Bologna (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Antonio Conte will be demanding a response from Napoli this weekend

The Antonio Conte era at Napoli began with disaster as they lost 3-0 at Verona but they should fare at least a bit better at home to Bologna, who lost their manager and two of their best players over the summer.

Score prediction: 0-0

Roma vs Empoli (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Roma will have been disappointed with a 0-0 draw in their opener against Cagliari but they should fare better against Empoli, who were beaten 7-0 in this fixture last term and are likely candidates for relegation this time around.

Score prediction: 3-0

Cagliari vs Como (Monday, 5.30pm)

It was a baptism of fire for Como as they were thrashed 3-0 by Juventus in their first Serie A game since 2003 and a trip to Cagliari is unlikely to go any better for Cesc Fabregas’s men. The hosts held Roma to a draw in their opener and can land a narrow victory.

Score prediction: 1-0

Verona vs Juventus (Monday, 7.45pm)

Many will expect Juventus to take three points from this clash but given they have won only one of their last five visits to Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi and Verona beat Napoli 3-0 last weekend, a draw seems a likelier result.

Score prediction: 1-1
