Wednesday's televised action in the Championship sees two out-of-form sides, Rotherham United and Bristol City, go head-to-head in South Yorkshire.

The hosts are really struggling and are without a win in their last four games, losing three of them.

They sit second-bottom in the table, while City are higher up in 11th but come into the midweek clash at the New York Stadium on the back of successive defeats.

Rotherham boss Matt Taylor will be hoping for improvement soon from his side

Team news

Rotherham defenders Grant Hall, Sean Morrison and Cameron Humphreys are all still out injured, as are midfielders Shane Ferguson, Cafu and Jamie Lindsay.

Publicidad

Experienced defender Lee Peltier is pushing for a start, though, after he came off the bench in the 2-0 defeat away at Cardiff on Saturday.

The visitors are still without injured defenders Rob Atkinson and Zak Vyner and midfielder Ross McCrorie, while Nigel Pearson is expected to make at least a couple of changes, though, after the disappointing defeat against Stoke.

He has plenty of options in attack as Harry Cornick, Tommy Conway and Andreas Weimann are among those hoping for starts.

The stats

Rotherham have only won once in the league all season — a 2-1 home success over Norwich at the start of September.

Publicidad

The Millers have been dreadful away from home — losing six times in all competitions — but they have fared at bit better at The New York Stadium, where their overall record reads: played five, won one, drew two, lost one.

Bristol City have been the epitome of inconsistency in the second tier so far. Pearson's side have won three, drawn three and lost three in the Championship.

The Robins won both fixtures between the two sides last season, triumphing 3-1 away and 2-1 at home.

Prediction

With both sides in poor form and pretty desperate for points, it might well be that they settle for one each.

The Robins look to have more about them than Rotherham, but after they threw away a 2-0 lead when losing 3-2 at home to Stoke at the weekend, the visitors could well be on a downer.

They have won away at Millwall and Swansea City so far this term and enjoyed a big 4-1 Ashton Gate success over Plymouth last month, too, but they are hard to have too much faith in after Saturday's calamity against the Potters.

Therefore, considering the Millers have only lost once at home all season and have beaten Norwich and drawn with previous leaders Preston on home turf in their last two games here, this looks ripe for a draw.
