QPR will hope to climb out of the relegation zone and move level with Plymouth when the two teams meet at Loftus Road on Wednesday night in the Championship.

Marti Cifuentes' side have finally started to adapt to his methods after his arrival in October, and things are looking up for the club in recent weeks.

Plymouth are only three points ahead of them in the table, and while they have picked up some points at home, their away form has been dismal under Steven Schumacher.

Team news

With his team in fine fettle, Cifuentes will try to stick with the same starting XI that started the 2-0 win over Hull. Midfielder Jack Colback is hoping to come back into the fold after overcoming a knock, but he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Publicidad

Osman Kakay and Reggie Cannon continue to fight it out for a spot at right-back, but it is likely the latter who will retain his spot.

Plymouth coach Schumacher will look to tinker with his starting XI after their recent 4-0 defeat to Leicester.

Schumacher has no new injury concerns to worry about, but the likes of Bali Mumba, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Dan Scarr, Brendan Galloway, Luke Cundle, Jordan Houghton and Ryan Hardie will all hope to be given the chance to impress from the start.

The stats

After gaining just 10 points from their first 17 matches, QPR have now won three on the spin to move on to 19 points. The R's are still in the relegation zone, but they are just two points away from safety thanks to their upturn in form.

Publicidad

The R's have scored eight goals in their last three appearances in the second tier, while they are now unbeaten in three at home.

While Plymouth have won two of their last four in the Championship, they have struggled to pick up any points on the road.

The Pilgrims have lost four in a row on their travels, while they have not won any of their 10 matches away from Home Park.

Steven Schumacher has yet to see his side win on the road in the Championship this season

Prediction

Both of these sides could find themselves in a relegation scrap all season, but for now it looks like QPR are the team on the up.

Cifuentes has not only improved his team's results, but they have kept successive clean sheets, which is not good news for a Plymouth side who have failed to score in their last two outings on the road.

Confidence will be low in the Plymouth dressing room after four defeats in a row away from home, and in the Championship, momentum is everything.

QPR will be champing at the bit to play again and home advantage should see them over the line.
