Manchester City made it two wins from two in pre-season with a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.

James McAtee gave Pep Guardiola's side a 21st-minute lead with his first senior goal for City, before 18-year-old sensation Mathys Tel levelled the contest with just nine minutes remaining.

But Aymeric Laporte was on hand to bag a late winner for the Premier League champions, with the French defender converting from close range after Phil Foden's initial shot was parried by Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

On the positive finish to his team's tour of Japan, boss Guardiola said: "Two great teams. Every time we lose the ball in the positions, the pace that Bayern have is something incredible.

"It was a good test. No injuries. Minutes in our legs for the next weeks."

Goalscorer McAtee, 20, added: "It was good to score my first senior goal. I didn't affect the game as much as I wanted but happy days.

"I was struggling with the humidity and it was good to get a water break after 20 minutes though I thought I had played 40 minutes!"

Spurs Sail to victory

Richarlison scored his first hat-trick for Tottenham

Tottenham concluded their Asia-Pacific tour with a 5-1 thrashing of Lion City Sailors.

The Singaporean outfit took a surprise first-half lead through Shawal Anuar, who capitalised on some suspect defending from Pedro Porro.

Harry Kane bagged an equaliser just before the half-time break, which ultimately opened the floodgates.

Second-half substitute Richarlison netted twice in seven minutes after the restart and eventually completed a hat-trick in stoppage time, with Giovani Lo Celso the other Spurs name on the scoresheet.

Manager Ange Postecoglou refused to get too carried away with the North Londoners' four-goal victory, though.

The Aussie said: "It was OK. We've had a few punishing days for the boys. We purposely made them work hard in training.

"I knew we wouldn’t be super sharp and it kind of looked that way, particularly in front of goal, but in general, I thought we played some decent football and our attitude was great, right to the end."
