It is the final day of racing in the UK ahead of a short break before the Boxing Day feast of action.

Ludlow is the sole jumps card on Wednesday afternoon and the meeting begins at 12.15pm, with the going described as 'Good To Soft, Good in places'.

Here are our five horses to follow.

12.15pm - Tanners Wines Handicap Hurdle (2m5½f)

An opening handicap mark of 122 proved very lenient for GREEN BOOK when he broke his maiden at Haydock (1m7½f) earlier this month.

Venetia Williams' runner was clear of his rivals at this finish, which suggests this step up in distance should not be a problem.

The Authorized gelding could still be well ahead of the handicapper so he can follow up here with a second straight success.

12.45pm - G.C Rickards Ltd Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m4f)

With six wins from nine outings, MINELLA TRUMP has an excellent record over fences.

He has now won his last seven consecutive races on the track over both obstacles.

His latest success was his biggest margin of victory so far, as he prevailed by 21 lengths in a novice chase.

This looks a match-up between Donald McCain's runner and Scene Not Herd. The latter is 11lb better off in the weights, but it may not be enough to finish ahead of one of the most in-form horses in training today.

1.45pm - Tanners Champagne Handicap Chase (2m)

NOT AVAILABLE moved from Henry De Bromhead's yard to Matt Sheppard earlier this year and since then he has produced three strong performances.

The six-year-old got himself in the winner's enclosure at Newbury on his latest outing at Newbury over their extended 2m trip.

The handicapper has raised the chaser 3lb in the official ratings which seems very fair.

This is a competitive contest, but the front-runner will be hard to pass.

2.15pm - Tenners Claret Handicap Chase (3m)

HEAD TO THE STARS won over this C&D back in March, the second victory here of his career so he clearly enjoys it around this course.

Connections will be encouraged by his seasonal reappearance at Warwick (3m) where he finished a close third of 11. It may have been much better had he not made a mistake two fences from home.

The 10-year-old chaser should come on for his run at Warwick as he will be much fitter this time around, while Hugh Nugent also takes a useful 5lb off this horse's back.

2.45pm - Tanners Prosecco "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle (2m)

Balco Coastal should expect further improvement after opening hurdles win

Bumper winner BALCO COASTAL made a winning start to his hurdles career at Huntingdon (2m) earlier this month.

The Seven Barrows runner jumped well and prevailed easily under the hands of Nico de Boinville.

The hood, which was worn at Huntingdon, remains on again.

Nicky Henderson's hurdler will need to carry a penalty, although further improvement can be expected on this second appearance jumping obstacles.

LiveScore selection: Balco Coastal
