Katie Taylor wants one last dance with Chantelle Cameron after sealing a memorable revenge victory in front of a delirious Dublin crowd.

Hometown hero Taylor, 37, lost her unbeaten record to Cameron six months ago and was an underdog to turn the tables on the unified light-welterweight champion in Saturday's rematch.

Yet the Irish icon's trademark grit was on show in the extreme as she edged an epic encounter by majority decision, taking the Englishwoman's belts in the process.

It was an electric atmosphere at the 3Arena and Taylor was quick to suggest a trilogy fight at Croke Park, which is Europe's third-largest sports stadium.

She said: "One of my favourite fighters is Marco Antonio Barrera. Barrera and [Erik] Morales is the best trilogy you could ever see.

"So if we could have that type of trilogy it would be absolutely iconic for the sport and even better if we did get it at Croke Park with 80,000 people.

"That's the statement we all wanted for the homecoming so that would be absolutely amazing if that happened."

Things could have gone very differently for Taylor, who was on the canvas in the opening round in an incident ruled as a slip rather than a knockdown by referee Roberto Ramirez.

With every flurry of shots roared by her vocal support, the veteran built up a lead in the middle rounds before withstanding a late onslaught from a bloodied Cameron.

Taylor admitted that pundits and fans writing her off in the build-up had given her huge motivation.

She confessed: "I was nearly half offended that people were writing me off so much.

"It's great to prove people wrong and I'm back on top again. This is what dreams are made of. Two-weight undisputed champion, this is more than a dream.

"I had a lot of pressure going into this fight. It was the longest six months waiting for the rematch. I had sleepless nights thinking about the loss.

"Whoever wrote me off obviously doesn't know me very well!"
