Barcelona have signed full-back Joao Cancelo from Manchester City on loan.

Cancelo has spent four years as a City player but was loaned out to Bayern Munich for the second half of last season.

And having not featured in any of Guardiola's matchday squads so far this term, he has now completed a short-term move to LaLiga.

Barca confirmed that the deal to bring Cancelo to Spain did not include an option to buy.

The Portuguese international has made 154 appearances for the Premier League champions and featured in all three of the competitions that the club won last season.

He now adds Barcelona to a CV that also features Juventus, Inter Milan and Bayern.

Cancelo joins fellow loanee and namesake Joao Felix, who also completed his Barca switch this evening.

The Catalan giants are dealing with strict financial constraints but have signed Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez on free transfers and Oriol Romeu on a cut-price deal.

Xavi's men sit two points behind rivals Real Madrid in LaLiga after picking up seven points from three league games so far this season.
