The busy Christmas schedule is showing no signs of slowing down with more Championship contests taking place on Thursday.

Chris Willock is QPR's joint top-scorer this season with six and he has been a reliable source for goals in the absence of an out-and-out goalscorer within Neil Critchley's squad.

Willock has gone seven without a goal but the return of Ilias Chair from World Cup duty may help him rediscover his goalscoring touch.

The duo are regarded as the jewels in the R's crown and Chair's return from Qatar will help lighten the workload on the former Arsenal trainee.

Rangers are up against a Luton side with a poor recent record away from home and this might be the match where Willock breaks his recent scoring drought.

Chile international Ben Brereton Diaz has been a continuous threat at this level for two years now and he is always someone to watch out for in terms of goalscoring.

The 23-year-old has quickly quashed any suggestion that last year was simply a flash in the pan by netting nine goals in 24 appearances during 2022-23 to date.

Despite being consistently linked with a move to the Premier League, Brereton Diaz has not let that overtly affect his football and he could look to find the net against a Middlesbrough side that have been suspect defensively this season, despite their improvement under Michael Carrick.

Former Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom is finally enjoying a good goalscoring season in English football with Middlesbrough, which feels like it has been a long time coming.

Akpom made a return to the Riverside in the summer following a loan spell at Greek side PAOK and, despite initially not looking like having a future, he has gone on to become the joint-top scorer in the division.

Eight goals have been scored in his last eight games and he netted a hat trick in Boro's Boxing Day thumping of Wigan.

Sunderland's Ross Stewart has scored two in as many games since returning from injury

Stewart was one of the main reasons why Sunderland were promoted from League One last season after scoring nearly 30 goals in the third tier.

He began his first-ever season at Championship level in exactly the same fashion by netting five in his first seven games.

Injury then disrupted his campaign, but upon his return to fitness, the 26-year-old has scored two in two and has been a reliable threat for the Black Cats.

Stewart will come up against a Wigan defence that might be vulnerable after their beating at Middlesbrough, as new boss Kolo Toure continues to try and find his feet in the dugout.

Flemming has been one of the buys of the season in the Championship, as Millwall aim to try and finish in the play-offs.

The Dutchman arrived from the Eredivisie and although he took a bit of time to adapt to his new surroundings, he has now certainly made his mark in the second tier.

Millwall's next match is at home to a Bristol City side that are out of form, registering only one win in eight games.

Flemming has scored 10 times this season and he will come up against a Robins side that are also one of the weakest defensively in the division.
