Fulham vs Aston Villa predictions: Cottagers can make home advantage count
- Fulham have lost one of their last six home games
- Aston Villa have won just one of their four league matches in 2024
- Recommended bet: Fulham draw no bet
Premier League top-four hopefuls Aston Villa looked back on track when they thrashed Sheffield United 5-0 at the start of the month but they have since been knocked out of the FA Cup by Chelsea and lost to Manchester United in the league.
That 2-1 defeat to United last Sunday has blown open the race for the Champions League places in the Premier League and Villa have work to do now.
But their opponents this week, Fulham, are a tough nut to crack on their own patch and they could be in for a tough time at Craven Cottage.
Team news
Kenny Tete and Raul Jimenez are expected to miss out for hosts Fulham.
Aston Villa will likely be missing Boubacar Kamara, Ezri Konsa, John Duran and Emiliano Buendia for the trip to Craven Cottage.
The stats
Aston Villa have collected just four points from a possible 12 in the Premier League in 2024.
Seven of Fulham's eight league victories this term have come at Craven Cottage.
The Cottagers have also lost only two of their last 10 home fixtures.
Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins has scored 11 times and laid on ten assists in the top flight this season.
Predictions
It is hard to predict which Aston Villa team will turn up at the moment.
Unai Emery has done an incredible job at Villa Park and, regardless of where they finish, this should be regarded as a positive season for the Midlands club.
But three defeats in their last four games is cause for concern and they have won just one Premier League fixture this year - a 5-0 drubbing of relegation-threatened Sheffield United.
Indeed, Villa have not recorded a win over a club in the top half since their successive 1-0 victories over Manchester City and Arsenal in early December.
Fulham go into this Saturday's game in 12th spot in the league and are clear enough of danger that they can afford to attack this game.
They have picked up 22 of their 29 league points at Craven Cottage this season, having racked up 5-0 wins there over Nottingham Forest and Fulham in December before beating Arsenal 2-1 on New Year's Eve.
The absence of Boubacar Kamara is a massive blow for Villa, who rely on the Frenchman to dictate play through the middle, and Fulham are worth backing draw no bet, where stakes are returned if it ends all square.
