Tottenham to win

Tottenham are right in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League following a 4-0 win at Aston Villa last weekend and now they will hope to maintain the momentum with a derby win at Fulham.

Spurs have lost just one of their last eight league games, while the Cottagers have won three of their last five and are still challenging for a finish in the top half of the table come the end of the season.

Team news

Raul Jimenez may return to the bench for Fulham, but is unlikely to displace Rodrigo Muniz in the starting line-up, with the Mexican striker being the only injury doubt for the hosts.

Publicidad

Ange Postecoglou could be without as many as five players on Saturday, with Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon and Fraser Forster still sidelined, Micky van de Ven ruled out after being taken off against Villa and Richarlison a doubt.

The stats

Tottenham have won 12 of their last 15 meetings with Fulham and have won six of their last 10 Premier League games.

Fulham have lost two of their last four games by a 2-1 scoreline, while Spurs have scored 24 goals across their last 10 league fixtures.

South Korean ace Son Heung-min has been in superb form for Spurs in recent matches.

Prediction

Tottenham can move into the top four with a win on Saturday and they should be able to build on their fantastic 4-0 win at Villa Park when they visit Craven Cottage in a weekend of reduced Premier League fixtures.

Publicidad

Fulham have been respectable this season and are well clear of the looming relegation battle, but they did lose at Wolves last weekend and have only won three of their last 11 competitive fixtures, losing against Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa and then Wolves in this period.

The Cottagers also have an appalling record against the north London side, further strengthening the visitors’ chances on Saturday.

Spurs have not lost against Fulham in over a decade and you have to go back all the way back to 2011 for the last time they lost at Craven Cottage, with the favourites winning 12 of the 15 meetings since that 1-0 triumph in west London and losing just once.

Postecoglou’s side, who are now just two points shy of a top-four spot with a game in hand, have won six of their last 10 Premier League matches and scored 24 goals in the process.

They have won five and drawn two of their seven Premier League away games against sides in the bottom half of the table and they can heap the pressure on Villa with a win on Saturday, perhaps guided by another inspired performance from Heung-Min Son.

The South Korean scored once and assisted twice last weekend and had a hand in both goals in the 2-0 win for Spurs in the reverse fixture in October, so he will be a huge threat through the middle on Saturday.
