Another bumper weekend of action across Europe precedes the final international break of the year and Simon Barlow has selected five potential goalscorers to follow.

This week’s selection of five formidable forwards includes Ukraine’s Artem Dovbyk and Spain’s Mikel Oyarzabal, who are both good odds-against prospects to score against friendly defences in LaLiga.

Dan James’ resurgent Leeds form suggests he will be one to watch on Saturday while two in-form Bundesliga marksmen round out the quintet.

Back Artem Dovbyk to score against Rayo Vallecano @ 7/5

The most potent away side in LaLiga go up against one of the most porous home defences when Girona travel to Madrid to face Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

Dovbyk has been a real find for the surprise pacesetters since joining this summer and comes into this weekend’s game with six goals in 12 games so far.

The Ukraine international, who notched himself and set up two more in Girona’s 4-2 win at Osasuna last Saturday, looks a standout candidate to get on the scoresheet again.

Back Mikel Oyarzabal to score against Almeria @ 13/8

The Basque maestro is on course for the best goalscoring campaign of his career with six strikes in 12 league games so far.

All six of those goals have come in Oyarzabal’s last seven LaLiga appearances and he should add to that tally when La Real go to rock-bottom Almeria, who have shipped an average of 2.5 goals per game at home this season.

The Spain international made it eight goals in his last ten club games when he notched in the San Sebastian side’s 3-1 Champions League win over Benfica in midweek.

Dan James has been amongst the goals recently as Leeds get to grips with the Championship

Back Daniel James to score against Plymouth @ 7/5

James bagged a brace on his last appearance at Elland Road when Leeds overpowered Huddersfield and the Welshman impressed again in the Whites’ 1-0 victory at Leicester last Friday.

The ex-Manchester United forward has excellent prospects of plundering a goal or two more against a Plymouth side that appears to have sprung a leak at the back.

The Pilgrims have conceded exactly three goals in three of their last five Championship assignments.

Back Victor Boniface to score against Union Berlin @ 8/11

Only Harry Kane has a higher expected goals figure than the Leverkusen hitman, who got the winner in his side’s 1-0 Europa League win over Qarabag on Thursday.

Boniface will be out to end a three-game Bundesliga scoring drought when Leverkusen host Union Berlin, who snapped a 12-game losing sequence in Naples on Wednesday.

Back Lois Openda to score against Freiburg @ 10/11

Openda’s winning effort for RB Leipzig against Crvena Zvezda in midweek means he has bagged 10 goals in 16 games since switching from France to Germany.

The former Lens hitman will be eying more glory when Leipzig host a Freiburg side that were spanked 5-0 away by Stuttgart in September and have shipped a total of 10 goals across their last four Bundesliga road trips.
