The football action continues at a frantic pace this weekend and once again we have picked out five potential goalscorers to keep a close eye on.

The obvious goalscoring candidate for Manchester City at Leicester is Erling Haaland and, as long as he shakes off a minor knock and the fever that hampered him in the midweek Champions League draw at Borussia Dortmund, it would be no surprise to see the Norwegian star up to his usual tricks at the King Power Stadium.

However, for more value, Phil Foden to strike anytime against the Foxes appeals as the England ace has scored six league goals already this term and has an impressive shot-on-target rate of 60% with 12 of his 20 shots in the top flight so far for the champions being on target.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is having a stunning season in the top flight, making a mockery of summer suggestions he was not good enough to score regularly in the Premier League.

After struggling in his previous campaign with Fulham in 2020-21, when he struck just three times, the 28-year-old has nine already this time around.

The Serbian's effort in the 3-2 win over Leeds last time out was his third goal in as many games and he will fancy his chances of at least one more against an Everton side that has not kept a clean sheet on the road in the league yet this season.

Wilfried Zaha and Crystal Palace failed to fire last weekend when they went down to a 3-0 defeat at Everton but a home match with Southampton gives them a good chance to bounce back and Zaha will likely be leading the Eagles' goal threat again.

The Ivory Coast international has five goals from 10 Premier League appearances so far this term and usually enjoys going up against Saints.

Zaha has registered five goals against Southampton in his career, including the opener in a 2-2 home draw last December and a late winner in a 2-1 win on the south coast in the reverse fixture in April.

Mohamed Salah has a habit of delivering against Leeds

Mohamed Salah has not always been at his devastating best for Liverpool so far this season but he has shown enough in recent weeks to suggest more goals will be coming his way.

The Egypt international followed up his quickfire hat-trick against Rangers in the Champions League earlier this month with the winner against Manchester City in the Premier League and even though things have not exactly gone to plan in the Premier League so far for the Reds, Salah has still managed 10 goals in all competitions.

The Liverpool forward struggled to make an impact at Nottingham Forest last weekend but grabbed the opener in midweek against Ajax in Europe and will likely relish facing a struggling Leeds side at Anfield this weekend — a club he has scored six times against in four previous appearances.

Napoli are top of Serie A, three points clear of next-best AC Milan, and are on a brilliant 12-game winning run in all competitions.

They look capable of sustaining a Scudetto challenge and are being talked about as potential Champions League winners this season as well.

Forward Victor Osimhen is one of their star players and approaches Saturday's home clash with ninth-placed Sassuolo in good form, with two goals in his last two Serie A matches.

The Nigeria international was rested for the midweek 3-0 win over Rangers in Europe but should be restored to the starting line-up this weekend and will be fresh and raring to go.
