Eveliina Summanen and Olga Ahtinen were delighted to return from injury during Tottenham's FA Cup success over Sheffield United last weekend.

The Finnish internationals had been sidelined since November but provided a welcome boost for head coach Robert Vilahamn ahead of the Women's Super League clash at West Ham on Sunday.

Summanen, 25, said: "It was nice to be in the squad once again and, more importantly, have that winning feeling and just be part of it all.

"It was fun and it's great to be back now.

"It was just great to get minutes back into my legs and we got the result and progressed into the next round.

"Me and Olga both returned to training around the same time and we got to share that joy a little bit in those moments. If we had a bad day, there was always someone to cheer us up."

Ahtinen, 26, was sidelined alongside Summanen after suffering a knee injury but shares her team-mate's optimism after making her comeback.

She added: "It was good to be back. It was exciting, especially in a knockout game like the FA Cup, so it had some importance as we wanted to win and go further in this competition.

"I was just excited, I felt like I was ready and had been working really hard to get to this point.

"We got a lot of support from each other because it was me, Drew [Spence] and Eveliina who got injured around the same time.

"I feel it helped us get through the beginning quite easily. It's never fun but it felt much better to have someone to talk to and not go through it alone.

"However, everyone around us has been very supportive, which has helped a lot."
