Turners Novices' Chase – Cheltenham 1.30, March 14

Key talking points: Can Facile Vega bounce back?

Facile Vega has been one of the most-hyped jumps horses in recent years given his dam Quevega was a prolific winner at the Cheltenham Festival.

This seven-year-old is a top-level winner himself, although there have been disappointments along the way, including on his last two starts over shorter.

The step up in trip is interesting for Facile Vega in the Turners as Quevega stretched out to three miles. There will be no excuses this time.

Turners Novices' Chase best bet: Ginny’s Destiny at 7/2 with LiveScore Bet

A clean-jumping bold front-runner is a valuable commodity in a chase at Cheltenham and Ginny’s Destiny has a knack of dictating matters and never seeing another rival after bouncing out.

His performance last time, while carrying top weight in a fiercely competitive novice handicap over course and distance, was top class and compared favourably on the clock with the later event landed by Ga Law.

It will take a good horse to lower his colours.

Ginny's Destiny looks to have a decent chance in the Turners Novices' Chase.

Ryanair Chase – Cheltenham 2.50, March 14

Key talking points: Will he or won’t he?

Publicidad

Banbridge’s preference for good ground is well known. He got that on his sole run of the season in Kempton’s Silviniaco Conti Chase, a top-class performance considering he was a cosy enough victor of subsequent Ascot Chase scorer Pic D’Orhy.

Conditions need to dry out for Banbridge to take his chance in the Ryanair Chase, but Cheltenham is known for draining quickly. If connections give him the green light, he has a favourite’s chance.

Ryanair Chase best bet: Fil Dor at 12/1 with LiveScore Bet

One horse who won’t mind how the track rides is Fil Dor. This six-year-old was a top-class juvenile two seasons ago but lost his way somewhat during his five-year-old campaign, as many have in the past.

However, he shaped well on his last outing when second to the top-class El Fabiolo over an inadequate two miles in the Hilly Way.

His campaign has been geared around this race and this intermediate distance is his true calling. A career-best awaits.

Stayers' Hurdle – Cheltenham 3.30, March 14

Key talking points: Old-timers bidding to roll back the years

There is an excellent blend of youth and experience in the Stayers’ Hurdle. Asterion Forlonge and Janidil are 10, while Dashel Drasher is 11 and Paisley Park and Sire Du Berlais are 12.

These staying stalwarts are bound to give it their all once more in a bid to bring the house down against the younger generation led by Teahupoo and Crambo

Stayers' Hurdle best bet: Crambo at 9/2 with LiveScore Bet

Publicidad

Crambo showed class and grit in equal measure when outbattling Paisley Park in the Long Walk Hurdle in December and appeals as a new staying star we will be talking about in the years to come.

It is predicted that he will put further daylight between himself and Paisley Park and, with horses coming off breaks faring well in the Stayers’ Hurdle over the years. This improving seven-year-old is sure to arrive firing on all cylinders after 82 days off.
