London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal lock horns once again in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Ahead of the heavyweight clash, we have pulled together a combined XI using both sides' greatest players of the Premier League era in an old-school 4-4-2.

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech (Both)

Arsenal icon David Seaman is unlucky not to feature here, having only been edged out by the mighty Petr Cech.

Though he also represented the Gunners in his later years, the stopper is best known for a legendary Chelsea stint which saw him lift four Premier League titles, seven domestic cups and both the Champions League and Europa League.

Right-back: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)

Perhaps the least spectacular name in our team, Branislav Ivanovic's contribution during Chelsea's golden period should not be overlooked.

An irrepressible full-back with an eye for goal, the Serbian lifted nine major honours with the Blues.

Centre-back: Sol Campbell (Arsenal)

Sol Campbell was a key figure in Arsenal's famous Invincibles campaign

Our North London representative in central defence was a toss-up between Mr Arsenal Tony Adams and the marvellous Sol Campbell, with the latter just getting the nod.

A brutally imposing figure, Campbell shone in the legendary 2003-04 Invincibles side and even netted in the 2006 Champions League final.

Centre-back: John Terry (Chelsea)

Many consider John Terry to be the greatest defender of the Premier League era and the Blues legend would likely captain our XI.

A born leader, Terry is the only man to lead any side to five English top-flight titles and won the lot at Stamford Bridge.

Left-back: Ashley Cole (Both)

Another man who pulled on the shirt for both London giants, Ashley Cole is a no-brainer at left-back.

Representing Arsenal on 228 occasions and Chelsea 337 times, as well as a stellar international career, Cole is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever in his position.

Right wing: Robert Pires (Arsenal)

Bring a touch of class to our midfield is the versatile Robert Pires with the silky Frenchman ranking as a true Gunners great.

Voted into the division's Team of the Year on three occasions, Pires also helped his nation to European Championship and World Cup wins.

Central midfield: Frank Lampard (Chelsea)

Frank Lampard is the Premier League's highest scoring midfielder of all time

Alongside Terry, Frank Lampard can consider himself Chelsea's most iconic player of the Premier League era.

Boasting a glorious passing range, boundless energy and ice-cool finishing, Lampard's 177 league goals may never be eclipsed by a fellow midfielder.

Central midfield: Patrick Vieira (Arsenal)

While Lampard holds legendary status in West London, Patrick Vieira is the midfield general that Arsenal fans hold dearest.

Skipper of the Invincibles, Vieira made the Gunners' No4 shirt his own and won seven major domestic honours in eight years, including two Premier League and FA Cup doubles.

Left wing: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Having announced his premature retirement only last week, mercurial talent Eden Hazard can take comfort from a spot in our side.

One of the most technically gifted players of his generation, the Belgian creator made the Premier League's Team of the Year four times and possesses quite the showreel.

Striker: Thierry Henry (Arsenal)

Top of the Arsenal legends list is Thierry Henry, with the irresistible French forward arguably the greatest goalscorer in Premier League history.

Though well short of Alan Shearer's record 258 strikes, Henry's 175 efforts came in just 259 outings — a better ratio than all of his fellow scoring icons.

Striker: Didier Drogba (Chelsea)

Didier Drogba led Chelsea's line during a hugely successful period

Leading the line alongside Henry is Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, unquestionably one of the greatest footballers Africa has ever produced.

The Ivorian was a two-time Golden Boot winner, four-time Premier League champion and netted the winning penalty in the Blues' maiden Champions League triumph.
