Manchester United have been hit with yet another injury blow after it was revealed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be missing for "several weeks".

The full-back only appeared in the 85th minute of the defeat against Brighton on Saturday but picked up a knock in his cameo that will keep him on the sidelines.

The 25-year-old will undergo further tests to confirm the severity of the problem but it is initially feared that it will keep him out until at least November.

A club statement said: "Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set for a period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during the closing stages of Saturday's game against Brighton.

"The right-back came on as an 85th-minute substitute, having started the game on the bench after battling illness during the week.

"Further assessment will be needed to determine how long Wan-Bissaka will be out for but initial indications suggest it will be several weeks."

New signings Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat are already on the treatment table, while Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are also missing.

Jadon Sancho and Antony are also unavailable to Ten Hag, whose side were beaten 3-1 by the Seagulls at Old Trafford.

United have lost three of their first five Premier League matches for the first time in the competition's history after also going down to Tottenham and Arsenal in their opening run of matches.

They take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
