Ross County picked up a priceless three points with an emphatic 3-0 win over dismal Dundee at Dens Park.

Goals from Noah Chilvers and subs Josh Nisbet and Jordan White secured what was the Staggies’ first Premiership away win since September 2023.

The result sees the Highland side move up to 10th in the table, while Dundee slip to ninth.

The Dark Blues made two changes to the team that lost narrowly against Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday with Simon Murray and Seun Adewumi coming in for Fin Robertson and Seb Palmer-Houlden, who dropped to the bench.

The Staggies made four alterations to the starting line-up that lost to St Mirren at home last weekend with 23-year-old German keeper Jordan Amissah being handed a debut between the sticks in place of Jack Hamilton, who dropped to the bench, while Ryan Leak, Aidan Denholm and Jack Grieves came in for Scott Allardice, White and Nisbet.

The Dark Blues were the first to threaten when Billy Koumetio found Adewumi on the left and his dangerous cut-back cross was cleared by a County defender just ahead of Murray, who was waiting to pull the trigger.

Shortly after, Chilvers tried his luck with an audacious lobbed effort from inside the centre circle that flew just over the bar.

However, Chilvers broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute with a crisp left-foot shot from the edge of the Dundee box that flew low into the bottom corner of Trevor Carson’s net.

As the half drew to a close, Chilvers hit a long-range snap shot but Carson made a routine save before the keeper had to produce a vital diving stop to keep out a strike from Ronan Hale.

The Dark Blues continued to make little impression on the Staggies goal at the start of the second half with a speculative Adewumi shot flying over Amissah’s bar in the 59th minute.

Instead it was County who came close to increasing their lead when Ryan Astley had to clear a Ryan Leak effort off his own line.

However, the Staggies scored their second in the 70th minute with Chilvers finding Nisbet inside the Dundee box and he made no mistake with a clinical finish past Carson.

Eight minutes later and the Staggies were 3-0 up. Mulligan made a rash challenge bringing down Nisbet inside his own box with referee Don Robertson pointing to the spot. White stepped up and calmly sent Carson the wrong way and the ball into the back of the net.
