LiveScore Racing Preview: Hamilton, September 27, 2021
Plenty racing action across the UK and Ireland to kick-start a new week on Monday and our focus is on the Flat card at Hamilton Park.
The Scottish circuit hosts an eight-race card from 1.10pm-4.50pm with conditions forecast to be 'Good to soft' and we've selected five to follow on the Hamilton card.
1.10pm - EBF Maiden Stakes (5f)
Perennial bridesmaid Hi Meh Darling already has a collection of five silver medals from eight starts and sets the standard on form but Iain Jardine's filly might be set for something similar again this afternoon as MANILA SCOUSE gets the nod to open his account.
The Aclaim colt finished fifth on debut this month in a soft-ground Beverley maiden, moving with purpose before getting overrun late on. There should be some improvement forthcoming now.
LiveScore Selection: Manila Scouse
1.40pm - Turnkey Trotters Handicap (5f)
Both GLOBAL HUMOUR and Thrilla In Manila are previous C&D winners and come here in good tune. The latter won at Ayr 11 days ago and is respected despite going up 5lb for his troubles but Jim Goldie's top weight is fancied to make it two wins at Hamilton in seven days and record a fifth success of 2021.
He had plenty in hand here last week and should have excellent claims with a repeat showing now.
LiveScore Selection: Global Humour
2.45pm - Bardykes Farm Nursery School Handicap
Recent Ayr winner Tilsitt has more on his plate having gone up 6lb in the ratings but should give another solid account of his credentials.
Preference though is for the William Haggas-trained TARROOB. The filly was twice unfortunate not to get her head in front on the all-weather early in the summer and she's undergone a wind operation during a short break since.
She handles turf and has Adam Farragher taking off 5lb here as she goes back up in trip and the former 1m2f Chelmsford scorer has plenty in her favour.
LiveScore Selection: Tarroob
3.20pm - Barbara Ann Letham And Son Jonathan Memorial Handicap Division 1 (1m½f)
FLYING MOON has been eased 2lb after finishing third over C&D last Monday and is now some 4lb below his last winning mark. He does like to race in the rear but, even accepting that, his tardy start last time was not an aid to the cause.
He won this race 12 months ago and is a three-time winner at this venue. He should be able to mount a major challenge now.
LiveScore Selection: Flying Moon
4.20pm - Hampton By Hilton Hamilton Park Handicap (1m4f)
Last week's C&D runner-up DAAWY was on the scoresheet on his only previous visit to this venue, landing that same contest 12 months previously. He was rather unfortunate bumping into a revitalised Koeman last week, Mick Channon's charge finally taking advantage of a much-reduced mark to score easily.
Roger Fell's Daawy is himself now 3lb below his previous win-mark here and given that he handles cut in the ground, conditions are optimal with any further rain a help. He can go one better and make it 2-3 at Hamilton.
LiveScore Selection: Daawy
