- Plymouth have won three in a row at home
- Preston drew 2-2 with Norwich on Tuesday
- Recommended bet:
Preston to win

Plymouth have picked up 10 of their 11 Championship points at Home Park so will be hoping home advantage gives them an edge over Preston.

North End have yet to win on their travels this season but have been good enough to draw at the likes of Middlesbrough and Burnley, and they should be confident they can break their duck in Devon.

Team news

Mustapha Bundu took the suspended Ibrahim Cissoko's place on Plymouth's left side in Wednesday's 1-0 loss at Millwall. Cissoko remains banned but Bundu may not have done enough to keep his place, with Rami Al Hajj or Freddie Issaka competing for the slot.

Back-up defender Brendan Galloway remains an injury absentee for Argyle.

Milutin Osmajic, North End's first-choice frontman, is serving a lengthy ban so Emil Riis will again lead the line.

Central midfielder Brad Potts has missed the last two games and is a doubt.

The stats

Plymouth have failed to score in five of their last eight Championship matches, though all were away from home. At home they have collected 10 of their 11 points.

Argyle have scored only three first-half goals in their 11 matches played, the lowest total in the division.

Wayne Rooney's side are conceding 17.8 shots per game, the most of any team in tier two.

Preston have lost two of 11 matches under Paul Heckingbottom and are on a four-match unbeaten streak.

Preston have picked up more cards — 38 (36 yellow, 2 red) — than any side in the Championship. Plymouth, however, have most red cards with three.

Prediction

Fortress Home Park is a tough place for visiting sides to go but Preston look in ideal form to go to Plymouth and win.

North End's away form is not the best and we know Plymouth at home are generally good, but there is plenty in Preston's favour.

The Lilywhites have had an extra 24 hours to prepare for this game having drawn 2-2 at home to Norwich on Tuesday, 24 hours before Plymouth produced yet another away-day no-show in a 1-0 loss at Millwall.

Preston are also doing well in a tricky run of games having also crushed Watford 3-0 and drawn 0-0 at Burnley during a successful October.

They do not create too many chances but their chance conversion is healthy enough and Argyle are the most generous team in the division, conceding more shots than any other side.

Plymouth are very up and down and only Portsmouth have conceded more goals. If they start to slip up at home they will be in grave danger and massive improvers Preston are just the sort who could start that rot.
