Norwich's home record will give David Wagner plenty of cause for optimism

- Norwich have won both of their Championship home games
- Stoke have lost their two away games this season without scoring
- Recommended bet: Norwich to win and both teams to score

Norwich City and Stoke City both went into the international break on the back of defeats and have had a fortnight to lick their wounds ahead of Saturday's clash at Carrow Road.

The Canaries were unbeaten before their 2-1 defeat at Rotherham, while Stoke went down 2-0 at home to Preston.

Potters' boss Alex Neil returns to the club he guided to the Premier League in 2015, but could see his side struggle in Norfolk.

Stoke have lost both of their away games this season to nil, including a 2-0 defeat down the road at Ipswich, and a similar result could be on the cards.

Team news

Norwich boss David Wagner will be nervously awaiting news of Marcelino Nunez after he came off for Chile against Uruguay with an ankle sprain.

Josh Sargent is out due to the ankle issue he suffered against Huddersfield.

For Stoke, Enda Stevens is a doubt after withdrawing from the Republic of Ireland squad with a calf injury.

Goalkeeper Mark Travers may also miss out. He also came home early from Republic duty with an unspecified issue, while Andre Vidigal and Ryan Mmaee are dealing with ankle and hamstring issues, respectively.

The stats

Norwich have won both of their home games in the Championship this season, beating Hull 2-1 and Millwall 3-1.

Jon Rowe has scored in both of those and is the second tier's joint-top scorer with four goals.

Stoke's Vidigal has netted three times and needs some support from his colleagues, with the Potters only scoring five in total.

They have also not beaten Norwich since 2018, losing 3-1 at Carrow Road last season.

Prediction

Alex Neil takes his Stoke side to former club Norwich on Saturday

Home form will be crucial to Norwich's hopes of promotion and their perfect record in Norfolk will be a real cause for confidence.

They have also won the pair's last two meetings by an aggregate of 7-2 and look to have the edge over Saturday's opponents.

Neil has extra motivation to get something on his return to his former club, but his team still seem to be settling after another busy summer in the transfer market, with the Scot himself admitting that they are yet to truly gel either on or off the field.

Stoke's away record is a real issue and it is worth considering the home victory at 10/11 with LiveScore Bet.

Equally, Norwich appear incapable of keeping clean sheets and are sure to give the Potters chances.
