MK Dons completed an early second-half comeback to beat Grimsby 3-1 and win their third straight league game away from home.

Danny Rose signed a contract extension with the Mariners during the week and celebrated that with the opening goal as he converted a smartly worked free-kick routine in the 16th minute.

The visitors grew into the first half as it progressed, with Tommy Leigh and Joe Tomlinson having shooting chances but failing to challenge Jackson Smith in the Grimsby goal.

The hosts had a great chance to double their lead straight after the break as Luca Barrington went through on goal but smashed his shot straight at MK goalkeeper Tom McGill.

Within 10 minutes of the second half getting underway, the visitors were in front with strikes from Alex Gilbey and Scott Hogan in the 49th and 53rd minutes respectively.

Scott Lindsey’s side managed the game well from that point, with Connor Lemonheigh-Evans sealing the victory in stoppage time.
