- Millwall are the joint lowest scorers in the Championship with four goals
- Rotherham have not won an away game in the league since last November
- Recommended bet: Draw or Rotherham Double Chance

Two sides too close to the Championship's bottom three for comfort meet at The Den in what should be a tense affair, with Millwall struggling to convince at their South London home, while Rotherham United's away form is famously poor.

Team news

For the hosts, Bartosz Bialkowski, whose first appearance of the season saw him concede three against Leeds United, will continue in goal with Matija Sarkic injured.

Centre-back Shaun Hutchinson is still out, while Zian Flemming, scorer of 15 goals last season, could be recalled from the start.

New signing, former Hull and Stoke midfielder Sam Clucas, is pushing for a first start for the visitors on the right side of Matt Taylor's midfield three. Fit-again Lee Peltier could also be targeting a return at right-back.

Definitely ruled out are Grant Hall, Shane Ferguson, Jamie Lindsay and Cafu.

The stats

Millwall are the joint lowest scorers in the Championship with just four goals to their name.

Rotherham have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their eight matches across all competitions, conceding 20 times. Both teams have scored in seven of those eight matches.

United have not managed to win any of their last 18 away matches in all competitions since a 1-0 success at Sheffield United on 8th November 2022. They have lost all four away games this term.

They average the fewest number of shots – 7.2 – of any side in the Championship.

The Lions have not conceded from open play in any of their last five matches against Rotherham. The last six league meetings between these two have yielded just eight goals in total.

Prediction

Any claims the New Den may have once had as a fortress have disappeared this season where Millwall have become something of a soft touch.

They have won once in front of their fans in the league – 1-0 over Stoke – and failed to score in three defeats to Bristol City and Leeds in the Championship and League One strugglers Reading in the League Cup.

Saturday's 3-0 loss to Leeds was fairly awful though Leeds will be a cut above most sides in the Championship this season, certainly better than Rotherham.

And Rotherham's travel sickness has become an issue. It was a problem for Paul Warne and remains a headache for Matt Taylor, who has not seen his side win on the road in ten, long months.

They picked up good points last term at places like Coventry, Luton, Watford and Norwich which shows they can roll their sleeves up and ride their luck.

And even though they have lost all four road matches played this season, they'll not mind the physicality of a dust-up with Gary Rowett's men.

This doesn't look like a match with many goals in it and that has to bring the draw into the equation and make you wonder if Millwall aren't too short, so the Draw or Rotherham Double Chance is a bet to consider.
