It is the opening day of the Dubai Future Champions Festival at Newmarket, a two-day meeting where we see some of the stars of the future.

There are five Group races, with the feature contest being the Group One Fillies' Mile.

And we have picked out five horses for you to follow.

1.50pm - Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes (5f - Group 3)

Hugo Palmer's colt HIERARCHY opened his career with back-to-back victories at Wolverhampton and Salisbury over 6f.

He has since performed well in Group races, including a second-place finish in the Mill Reef Stakes, a short head behind Wings Of War.

The son of Mehmas is stepping down in class here and is tackling 5f for the first time. He sets the standard on the form he has shown this season.

He looks set for his opening Group success in this race.

LiveScore selection: Hierarchy

2.25pm - Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes (7f - Group 3)

GOOD AMERICAN did not make her debut until September this season but she did not show any signs of inexperience when scoring at Salisbury (7f).

Ralph Beckett's filly made all in that race. She stayed on well when challenged inside the final 110 yards.

Connections clearly think a lot of this of the horse to promote her to Group company on just her second start.

Frankie Dettori has been booked for the ride, which is a big boost to her chances.

LiveScore selection: Good American

3pm - Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Awards Challenge Stakes (7f - Group 2)

Charlie Appleby and Godolphin have two runners in this Group Two contest in AL SUHAIL and D'bai.

It looks telling that William Buick has chosen the former of those.

He rode this horse to victory at Haydock (7f) on his penultimate outing. The four-year-old gelding is a Listed winner but, so far, a Group success has eluded him.

There is no stand-out runner in this field so it represents a good opportunity for Appleby's runner.

LiveScore selection: Al Suhail

3.35pm - bet365 Fillies' Mile (1m - Group 1)

INSPIRAL looks at the top of her generation when it comes to the two-year-old fillies this season.

She is fancied to win the 1000 Guineas over this C&D next year.

This is her first attempt at a Group One contest and the daughter of Frankel is the one to beat.

John and Thady's Gosden's runner was very impressive on her last outing in the Group Two May Hill Stakes at Doncaster, when she prevailed by over three lengths.

This horse has a very exciting future.

LiveScore selection: Inspiral

4.40pm - Newmarket Pony Academy Pride Stakes (1m2f - Group 3)

Aidan O'Brien is represented by LA JOCONDE in this Group Three contest to end the card and the Ballydoyle man could be set to finish the afternoon with a victory.

His Galileo filly has been running in Group One company in her last three starts and she has far from disgraced herself.

The Roscommon winner will find things much easier in this race. She was just half a length behind Snowfall on her latest effort.

Given the year the Classic winner has had, that is very strong form.

LiveScore selection: La Joconde
