Bournemouth vs West Ham (Saturday, 3pm)

Having sold Declan Rice to Arsenal, West Ham go into the new campaign with a weaker squad than last season.

In contrast, Bournemouth have made several acquisitions to boost new manager Andoni Iraola's options and the hosts could kick off with a win against a Hammers side that struggled in pre-season.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 West Ham

Everton vs Fulham (Saturday, 3pm)

Everton have also been pretty inactive in the transfer window but there have been signs of Sean Dyche having an impact in pre-season, with the Toffees not conceding in any of their last four games.

Fulham star man Aleksandar Mitrovic has been pushing for a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

With the striker having only just returned to training and unlikely to be involved, the Merseysiders' defence could come out on top.

Prediction: Everton 1-0 Fulham

Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm)

It promises to be a tough season for Sheffield United and they start with a difficult game against a Crystal Palace side that only lost two of their 10 games after Roy Hodgson returned to the dugout.

The Eagles now face life without the departed Wilfried Zaha but with Eberechi Eze having emerged as a creative force, they should be able to cope.

Prediction: Sheffield United 0-1 Crystal Palace

Newcastle vs Aston Villa (Saturday, 5.30pm)

These sides met in the Premier League Summer Series, producing an entertaining 3-3 draw in which Villa were 2-0 up.

With home advantage, Newcastle should be able to shade this one but it promises to be another fun match with plenty of goals.

Prediction: Newcastle 3-2 Aston Villa

Brentford vs Tottenham (Sunday, 2pm)

Tottenham will be hoping to get off to a positive start at Brentford

Sunday's action kicks off with an intriguing London derby.

And the question of how Brentford will fare this season without the suspended Ivan Toney looms large.

A new-look Tottenham side also have much to prove as they try to adapt to Ange Postecoglou's methods.

Prediction: Brentford 2-2 Tottenham

Chelsea vs Liverpool (Sunday, 4.30pm)

It will surely take time for Mauricio Pochettino's young Chelsea side to find their feet but they should be more organised under the Argentine.

Jurgen Klopp has begun a rebuilding job at Liverpool that is not yet complete.

With both squads looking far from complete, a draw would represent a decent result.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
