Liverpool to win & over 3.5 goals

Liverpool can no longer complete an unprecedented quadruple this season following their FA Cup quarter-final loss to Manchester United before the international break.

But they are serious contenders for the Premier League title and can go top with at least a point against Brighton before Arsenal and Manchester City go toe-to-toe in a huge clash later on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds should feel confident of going a step further and winning the game, though, with Anfield having been a fortress once again this season.

Team news

Andrew Robertson's recent knock is not as serious as first feared and he will be assessed, but Liverpool will still be without Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson.

As for visitors Brighton, they could welcome back both James Milner and top scorer Joao Pedro, while Billy Gilmour returns from suspension.

Jack Hinshelwood, Kaoru Mitoma and Solly March, however, are all sidelined.

The stats

No Premier League club has a better home record than Liverpool, who have won 11 and drawn three of their 14 league fixtures at Anfield this season.

Only 15 of the 42 points accrued by Brighton in the Premier League this season have come on the road.

And the Seagulls have been involved in plenty of high-scoring matches with both teams having scored in 21 of their 28 league matches, while their top-flight fixtures average 3.36 goals per game.

Prediction

It has been a noisy week off the pitch for Liverpool with rumours surrounding Jurgen Klopp's replacement circulating but the Reds can put that aside and secure an important win over Brighton.

Liverpool are a different beast at Anfield, having not lost in their last 31 games in all competitions, while they have taken 36 points from a possible 42 at home this season.

They are still dealing with injuries but they have the strength in depth to cope with Brighton, who have blown hot and cold this season.

The Seagulls beat Nottingham Forest in their last league fixture earlier this month but have not won back-to-back matches in the top flight since September.

The potential return of Joao Pedro is a major boost but Brighton could be out of their depth at Anfield and Liverpool are the side to be on.

That said, there should be goals with nine of Liverpool's last 13 games generating at least four.

Brighton certainly know where the goal is and they can contribute to another high-scoring matchup.
