Liam Rosenior will have been encouraged by Hull's positive start to the season

- Hull are unbeaten at home in the Championship this season
- Plymouth have taken just one of a possible 12 points away from home in 2023-24
- Recommended bet: Hull to win and both to score

Plymouth picked up a morale-boosting 6-2 win over Norwich last weekend but have struggled away from home and Hull could take advantage on Saturday.

The Tigers are unbeaten at home in the Championship, albeit their last three outings at the MKM Stadium have ended in draws.

They had previously beaten Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 and are in the early promotion mix, sitting fourth in the standings at the time of writing.

Meanwhile, Plymouth are 12th on the back of their win over the Canaries but have taken just one point from four away games this season and their away-day worries are holding them back.

Team news

Hull boss Liam Rosenior's squad has an almost clean bill of health, with their only doubt over Ozan Tufan, who is struggling for match fitness.

Plymouth are again expected to be without defender Brendon Galloway on Saturday due to an unspecified injury.

Fellow defender Saxon Earley is out until November with an ankle issue, while goalkeeper Michael Cooper is unlikely to play until the spring due to a cruciate ligament injury.

The stats

Hull have lost only once in the Championship this season, going down 2-1 at Norwich on the opening weekend.

They have since recorded four wins and three draws but have kept just two clean sheets in those seven outings.

Plymouth's three Championship victories this season have all come at home and the Pilgrims' 13-year absence from the second tier prior to last season's promotion means they last won on the road in the division in April 2010.

They do, however, have one of the Championship's joint-top scorers to call on, with Ryan Hardie one of five players to have netted on five occasions.

The same can be said of Hull's Aaron Connolly, while Tufan and Argyle's Morgan Whittaker have both scored four times.

Prediction

Plymouth's away form has given Steven Schumacher plenty to ponder

Argyle's away record is sure to be a real cause of frustration to boss Steven Schumacher and he will be desperate to get a win on the board before it starts to be seen as a potential psychological issue.

Hull, meanwhile, will be keen to grab a home victory after their recent run of draws and can feel confident after last week's 3-1 win at Stoke.

Both sides should be fresh after prematurely crashing out of the Carabao Cup and this looks set to be an entertaining game, with Plymouth's tally of 16 goals the third-highest in the Championship.

There is a real possibility of both teams scoring but Hull's home record, combined with Plymouth's woes on the road, hints that they can continue their early-season promotion push.
