- Hull have scored exactly one goal in their last three home league games
- Huddersfield are 21st, one place above the relegation zone
- Recommended bet: Hull to win 1-0

Hull's home clash with Huddersfield on Saturday may not be one for the purists, with the hosts tipped to pick up a narrow victory.

The Tigers are ninth in the Championship, just two points adrift of the top six, and approach Saturday's home game needing a response after going down 3-1 at West Brom last weekend.

That defeat came on the back of two consecutive victories, though, and they have made a habit of just doing enough at times this season to grind out points.

The visitors, meanwhile, have had a disappointing first three months to the season and could well be involved in the relegation scrap as the campaign progresses.

Town are expected to be competitive in this Yorkshire derby but ultimately it could be another defeat for Darren Moore's side.

Team news

Hull midfielder Regan Slater is still struggling with a hamstring injury and is likely to be out of action until early December.

Tigers boss Liam Rosenior has no other reported fresh injury concerns.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jonathan Hogg is set for a recall for Town after completing his one-match ban.

Striker Kian Harratt is also expected to return for the visitors, but midfielder David Kasumu (hamstring) and forward Josh Koroma (groin) are likely to sit out the trip to the MKM Stadium.

The stats

Hull have scored exactly one goal in six of their eight home matches in all competitions this season.

Huddersfield are without a win in their last three matches and have conceded eight times in that spell.

Aaron Connolly is Hull's top-scorer this season with five goals from 12 league appearances.

Huddersfield have scored just 14 goals in the Championship this season, with Sheffield Wednesday (seven) and QPR (11) the only sides with fewer so far.

Prediction

Hull's last home league game ended up 1-0 in their favour when they beat early-season pacesetters Preston and this game could go the same way.

Like a lot of matches in the second tier, it could be tight and there may be little to choose between the two sides.

However, Hull look the better equipped, especially with home advantage, to edge it, especially when you consider Town have not won for three games, are just above the relegation zone, and have only tasted victory on the road once so far this term.
