Hakeeb Adelakun scored the winner as Salford beat MK Dons 1-0 to make it six Sky Bet League Two victories in a row.

Adelakun’s first-half goal settled matters at Stadium MK as former Dons boss Karl Robinson saw his Ammies side extend their winning run – all of which have come without conceding a goal.

Victory sees Salford rise into the automatic promotion places, while MK Dons have picked up one win in their last six outings.

Cole Stockton headed just wide early on for the visitors, before Liam Kelly’s strike bounced wide for the hosts.

MK Dons’ ex-Salford man Callum Hendry was denied by Matthew Young before Joe Tomlinson headed just wide.

Salford saw Stockton fire just wide before they took the lead in the 34th minute as Adelakun’s subtle flick from Liam Shephard’s deflected cross beat Tom McGill.

Alex Gilbey fired straight at Young after the break, but Salford missed chances for a second as Curtis Tilt struck the post before Kevin Berkoe and Tyrese Fornah missed the target when well placed.
