After two weeks off due to the international break, the Championship returns to the domestic calendar this weekend and there are some mouthwatering fixtures set to take place.

The action gets underway on Friday evening with Hull at home to Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United but the pick of the contests comes on Saturday lunchtime as the big two in the title betting, Leeds and Burnley, lock horns at Elland Road.

We look at all 12 games, which conclude with Portsmouth against West Brom from Fratton Park on Sunday, and have provided a correct-score prediction for each.

Hull vs Sheffield United (Friday, 8pm)

Sheffield United have made a strong start in their bid to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, winning two and drawing two of their opening four games.

However, they may have to settle for a point at a Hull side who have shared the spoils in three of their first four league assignments, losing only away at Leeds last time out.

Leeds vs Burnley (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Having drawn their opening two league games with Portsmouth and West Brom, Leeds have found their feet with back-to-back 2-0 victories over Sheffield Wednesday and Hull.

The Whites may be able to repeat the feat with a fourth straight clean sheet against an injury-ravaged Burnley, who limped to a 1-0 loss at Sunderland on their last away trip.

Millwall vs Luton (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Luton are still in search of their first win of the Championship campaign following last season’s relegation from the Premier League and the wait may go on at Millwall.

The Hatters have failed to score on away trips to Portsmouth and Preston so Millwall, who were 3-0 winners at home to Sheffield Wednesday last time out, may stand firm.

Oxford vs Stoke (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Newly-promoted Oxford are two from two at Kassam Stadium this season, having defeated Norwich 2-0 and Preston 3-1 and they may edge past Stoke.

The visitors have won two and lost two of their opening four matches and are becoming a difficult side to predict.

Blackburn vs Bristol City (Saturday, 3pm)

Blackburn remain unbeaten after four Championship outings and both teams have scored in each of those encounters, so this should be entertaining.

Bristol City have seen both teams score in three of their four league games, which features a pair of 1-1 draws with Hull and Coventry.

Derby vs Cardiff (Saturday, 3pm)

Cardiff are rooted to the foot of the Championship standings, with only one point and one goal to show for their efforts from their opening four matches.

Derby have won their first two home league games against Middlesbrough and Bristol City to nil and can edge another low-scoring contest.

Middlesbrough vs Preston (Saturday, 3pm)

Preston continue to be plagued on their travels and their opening two away assignments have seen them lose 3-0 at Swansea and 3-1 at Oxford.

They were beaten 4-0 at The Riverside last season and look out of their depth against a Middlesbrough side that should be challenging for promotion.

Plymouth vs Sunderland (Saturday, 3pm)

Sunderland are the only side to have won all four of their Championship matches this season and they can maintain their perfect record at Plymouth, who remain winless under Wayne Rooney.

The only goal the Black Cats conceded was an own goal from Luke O’Nien in their latest victory at Portsmouth and they should make the long trip worthwhile for their supporters.

Sheffield Wednesday vs QPR (Saturday, 3pm)

Sheffield Wednesday are looking to respond following three straight defeats to nil and they can claim a point against QPR, who have already shared the spoils with Sheffield United and Plymouth this season.

Swansea vs Norwich (Saturday, 3pm)

Swansea won this corresponding fixture 2-1 last season and having won five of their last eight Championship games at home, they may be able to repeat the feat.

Norwich have won only one of their first four league matches this season and that includes suffering a 2-0 defeat at Championship new boys Oxford.

Watford vs Coventry (Saturday, 3pm)

After a strong summer of investment, Coventry are yet to find their feet this season and they look vulnerable at Watford, who have won three of their first four.

The Sky Blues have already suffered 1-0 defeats to Stoke and Norwich this season.

Portsmouth vs West Brom (Sunday, 3pm)

West Brom have taken 10 points from their opening four Championship clashes and the unbeaten start can continue at Portsmouth, who remain winless but have scored in three of their first four fixtures.
